41st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Parade

THEME: “20/20 Vision: The Dream Seen Clearly”

Monday, January 20, 2020– 11:00 A.M.

Detroit Ave. & John Hope Franklin Blvd.

The intent of the MLK Day Parade is for participants of all ages to have fun, remember Dr. King’s legacy and how they can be a part of keeping his dream alive.  The floats and various entries should convey the theme and be appropriate for viewing by children and adults. Parade Marshals, Security Personnel and Super Volunteers will be posted along the parade route to ensure the safety of the parade participants and guests as well as ensure consistent spacing between units.

7:00 am to 10:00 am- Check-in/Pick-up Numbers (Command Tent - MLK & John Hope Franklin)

8:30 am - Parade Judging Begins

11:00 am - Parade Begins

SCHOLARSHIP/PATRON DONATIONS:

You may make a tax-deductible donation to the MLK Scholarship Fund or the Celebration without participating in the parade. Any amount will be greatly appreciated! Donations of $25 or more will receive a special letter of appreciation.

 

Note: The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Society has provided direct programming, leadership development, civic engagement and opportunities for artistic expression for more than 20,000 boys and girls across the city of Tulsa, Tulsa County and the surrounding areas since it was founded in 1978. The Society has awarded $80,000 in scholarships over the past three decades to local high school graduates aspiring to achieve Dr. King’s dream.
